MiTek Blue Card Truss Installation Accreditation
Fabricators can have the latest timber engineering software, the smartest computerised saws, the best pressing equipment and the most diligent, skilled staff; outputting the highest quality trusses. But all of that is cold comfort if the trusses aren’t being installed properly on-site.
With this in mind, MiTek have developed a co-ordinated, accredited truss installation training course; one focussed specifically on identifying the correct procedures for the installation of roof trusses. The course has been designed to explain the requirements of AS4440 (the installation of nail-plated timber roof trusses) standards. Plus, accreditation (approved by the Victorian Building Commission) carries with it 3 CPD (Continuous Professional Development) points that Registered Building Practitioners can use towards their annual registration!

The whole course takes half a day – 3.5 hours from beginning to end; including the assessment phase.
Participation is arranged via a MiTek fabricator and classes can be run at MiTek, at a fabricators plant or an alternate location. Class numbers are usually 20 to 30.
On completion of the course participants receive a certificate, and a MiTek Accredited Timber Roof Truss Installer ‘blue card.’
